Companion insurance —
all-in-one cover for EV fleets
The CD Restop EV Shield — protection for vehicles, high-voltage batteries, third-party liability, passengers, cargo, charging and business interruption. Premiums are agreed according to fleet size. EV Shield is being designed with a partner insurer; scope, premiums and benefits will be set in the insurance contract at launch.
Why do EVs need dedicated insurance?
High-voltage batteries · charging liability · thermal runaway · EV-specific risks
High-voltage batteries
A 400–800V battery typically accounts for around 30–40% of a vehicle’s value. Conventional insurance does not fully cover risks such as thermal runaway, over-discharge or battery swelling.
Charging liability
Fire or explosion during charging, charger failure, incorrect voltage — risks specific to EVs that petrol and diesel policies do not include.
Business interruption
Operator partners lose revenue while a vehicle is under lengthy repair. Standard policies do not include this — EV Shield is designed to add it, with payout limits set in the insurance contract.
7 protection modules in EV Shield
All vehicles and charging stations in the CD Restop fleet · premiums agreed according to fleet size
Vehicle Physical Damage
Vehicle and high-voltage battery. Covers collision, rollover, fire, theft and natural disasters, including battery thermal runaway.
Third-Party Liability
Civil liability to third parties for bodily injury and property damage, in accordance with Vietnamese regulations.
Passenger Accident
Protection for passengers on board (especially coaches, shuttle vans and tour vehicles).
Cargo
Goods transported by electric vans and trucks. Covers damage and loss.
Charging Station Liability
Fire or explosion during charging, charger failure or incorrect voltage causing property damage or bodily injury.
Business Interruption
Operator partners lose revenue when a vehicle is under repair for more than 48 hours. Pays the daily rate × days out of service.
Investor Asset Protection
The investor is a co-ranking beneficiary under the policy, helping protect the invested asset.
A 4-step claims process · 48-hour handling target
Priority handling for the CD Restop fleet · direct API connection with insurers
Incident report
The operator partner reports via the app, or GPS triggers a report automatically in a major accident
On-site survey
The insurer’s surveyor attends the scene and records the damage
Claim approval
The insurer reviews the file and decides the compensation amount
Payment
Transferred to the CD Restop account, then allocated to operator partners/investors according to the policy
Automated through ERP
When GPS raises an accident alert or an operator partner reports an incident via the Partner Portal, the CD Restop system automatically submits the claim to the insurer via API. Operator partners do not need to fill in forms, which shortens claim handling time.
Safe driving — a basis for reviewing next term’s premium
GPS telematics records a daily driving score: harsh braking, speeding and harsh acceleration. Operator partners with good driving scores may be considered for a premium adjustment at renewal, subject to the insurer’s policy.
